taylor kenney jewelry - summer market featured vendor

My jewelry incorporates the handcrafted techniques of wire crochet and wire wrapping to make beautiful, unique jewelry pieces. I love working with bright, colorful gemstones and enjoy creating eye-catching color combinations. My jewelry is definitely feminine and delicate, and I'm partial to creating small, dainty necklaces while earrings and rings tend to be larger and make a bolder statement. In a world of so many mass-produced, factory items, I love being able to make jewelry that really has that hand-crafted look and feel, using techniques that have been handed down through generations.

the gold bug jewelry - summer market featured vendor

I was inspired to create my line of jewelry after stumbling across an article on the counter culture of Steampunk. I was fascinated by the use of watches and gears but found many of the designs to be cumbersome for everyday wear. I then set down to design a line that features intricate vintage watch movements in wearable pieces of jewelry.

The jewelry pieces are made using brass stampings formed from vintage molds. I manipulate, pierce, and layer the stampings using a variety of cold forming techniques and finish the piece with vintage watch movement that makes each piece unique.

All of the watch movements I use are vintage nonworking movements that are 40 to over 100 years old.

take2mrd - summer market featured vendor

Take2 modern.repurposed.design. It all started with two very different, yet very complimentary stylish young women with the same initials: JC. Let's just say that JC type A, plus JC type B make a finely balanced team! As the JCs suspected all along, two is better than one! This theory can be seen in everything Take2 designs: 2 eras - mix modern and vintage styles, 2 fabric weights - mix wool with cotton/linen/silk, 2 lives - repurpose something to make something else, 2 uses - use something in a new way, as in 'second time around', and finally, 2 viewpoints from 2 JCs.
    No 2 are alike!
