The fireflies had a big time at Whole Foods Market on Pearl Street last night showing off our favorite tips for wrapping foodie gifts! We had a bowl of their terrific truffles to share while we talked up our upcoming market and DIY gift wrap table. Obviously we favor the giving of homemade and handmade gifts - AND - we made this FREE DOWNLOADABLE page of canning labels in two sizes, feedsack fabric gift tags and a template for our upcycled poinsettia gift wrap adornment to help take all your handmade & homemade efforts to the outside of the package as well!

JJ’s Sweets candy company dedicated to new ideas in the world of treats. We draw from the past but are influenced by our desire to see candy evolve into tasty indulgences that inspire the spirit, support our bodies, and are sustainable for the environment.
The idea for this company came to me in a dream I had one night. In the dream I saw new candies being created by a kooky Willy Wonka-ish candy man. He was making Ginseng hard candies and other treats that not only delivered in the realm of immediate gratification, but also were healthier for our bodies and contained some functional benefits. They were also unique in their flavors, drawing on old recipes but infused with a modern adventurousness.
After months of sitting on this idea I decided to begin experimenting in October 2009. From my first batch (an early version of the Lemon Study Buddy with Ginkgo and Rosemary), I had very positive reviews; and when I created the first Cocomel, it was all over. JJ’s Sweets was born! We would make delicious candies out of natural ingredients that were friendly to people with allergies.

Make My Notebook has been busy in 2012. We have moved out of the basement and into a real studio & storefront space in Edgewater. It was a lot more work than we thought it was going to be but we have still had time to come up with some great new designs. We will be featuring some fresh new floral graphics, a new Large Robot Trio, and some musical inspired themes to name a few. We are also proud to debut our new large day planner (a favorite among teacher's) that's sure to be the answer!
